Wednesday and Thursday 9.30-12.00
Christ Church is a Fair Trade church and not only do we serve Fair Trade tea and Coffee we always have a stand with a varied range of Fair Trade products for sale. Sometimes we have other stalls too, but our coffee mornings are more than just that.
There is a crèche for the little ones to play in whilst parents or grandparents can enjoy meeting their friends.
September to April we have carpet bowls for all ages in the hall.
Coffee mornings are great places for planning meetings and for collecting and sorting things for example our Christmas Fair and also for the Shoe Box Pack and Wrap Saturday in November. Folk from all over the village bring items and Shoe boxes throughout the year for this.
Last year we sent 79 shoe boxes containing items such as soap and toothbrush, pencils and paper, hat and gloves, toys and lots of love to Samaritans Purse for distribution mainly in Eastern Europe and Africa. Many of the children receiving boxes are orphaned or abandoned, or have Aids or other life threatening diseases.
Christian Aid Week, Methodist Women in Britain, and the Children’s Holiday Club and any special Saturday coffee mornings are also mainly sorted during coffee mornings
There is always something going on at Christ Church that needs to be found, made, discussed or counted!
